bringing a little mardi gras to dinner on the grounds

So, this Sunday my church is kickin it old school and having "dinner on the grounds". Hallelujah! Problem: I can't really cook. Allison do not mean about a casserole. However, I'm a decient baker. I make some mean chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. The cupcake is almost always my go-to dessert. It's easy, cute, and delicious. Sadly, someone is already bringing cupcakes. LAME. So, in honor of the season and the saints, I think I will make a king cake. I've never attempted a king cake... I mean, come on, I'm from Florida... but I will be this weekend. This is going to be another step in my quest to be a domestic goddess. Wish me luck!

Also, clearly I'm a ghost.

I'm not a very good cook either. But Pioneer Woman saves the day for me. Her chocolate sheet cake has become "the thing" that everyone begs me to bring. Check her site. Everything I've tried (and I've tried a ton) has been met with rave reviews!

Ah! I'm slightly obsessed with her actually. I haven't make any of her recipes though... Hmm, I might need to try one.
