My heart:

Let me start off by saying I REALLY love where I am right now, as far as life goes. And as much as I miss things, I would still rather be here, in bed, drinking a smoothie, next to my husband who is snoring. =) This is my second summer not working at a Fuge Camp. While I know I'm right where I'm supposed to be, my heart still aches a little for camp.

I miss my camp friends. They are exactly what you needs after a 15 hour day of hot crazyness.

I miss my students. At one point, I was them. I went to camp as a student and my life and view of ministry/evangelism/world vision was changed.
I miss my site babies. I miss sitting outside for hours in 100 degree weather playing parachute games, coloring with chalk, and telling them about Jesus. I miss seeing my campers burdened for site kids. I miss seeing my site kids run up to our vans as we pull up, knowing that despite what's going on at home, we will love them.

Goodbye, old friend.

When I was in 7th grade I went with my church to a youth camp called Fuge. It changed the way I viewed God, love, missions, people, ect. Amazingly, I ended up working 3 incredible summers at Fuge. It's a life changing, week long Christian camp for teenagers. It's also a life changing summer for staffers. Fuge has a very special place in my heart. I've met some of my best friends while working camp. As a camper, Fuge taught me about love and giving (and crushes on boys from Alabama... and maybe late night secret haircuts). As a staffer, Fuge taught me about passion, encouragement, and grace (but don't forget exclusive relationships, flarp, and ebonics). The past three summers have been amazing, wonderful, hard, and draining... all at the same time. Students, site children, youth leaders, and staffers have all, in some way, changed my life. I will not be working this summer... but I have a feeling God has something else equally amazing in mind. More on that later. Let's reminisce...

come take me home

Well, I'm finally home from a summer full of ridiculousness. I spent the last 2 1/2 months in Jackson, MS working at Fuge camp. I saw people grow and change. I saw God move.

Sometime around week 2 my computer decided to crash... so sorry for no real updates. Hopefully, my computer will be back to its old self soon.

A few things about this summer...
1. I met and worked with these wonderful people. Aren't they cute?

2. I met some amazing students and adults.

3. I went to a baseball game on the 4th of July (because I'm so American)

4. I hung out and ministered to some wonderful kids at two different appartment complexes.

5. I went to the beach and got REALLY burnt... and so did everyone else. Sad day.

6. I painted a pair of Toms!! Mine are the ones with flowers. I'll get a better picture of them up soon.

7. I tie dyed! This time the results were much more favorable.

8. I went to New Orleans!

9. And last but not least, I spent everyday with these fabulous ladies... Jenna, Sarah and Andrea.

Alright, we have that update out of the way. I will soon be telling you about what I learned, new music, new ideas, new dreams, new friends, and much much more. Get excited.
